Design and Css
I think I've kinda gotten the hang of CSS for the most part. I'm by no means an expert, but I can put things on a page and make it look like it should. Only problem is that I have a really hard time designing what a page should look like.
If someone handed me some kind of image for a website and said "make it look like that", I'm pretty sure I could do it. However, I can't seem to come up with those designs. I can point at sites I like and sites that I don't like design-wise, but I just can't bring all those thoughts together very easily in my own designs. For example, I think I like rounded corners, but then when I try to do it, it just doesn't look right.
I have such trouble with color pallates though. I can never figure out which colors look best for certain parts of the page. If everyone were colorblind, then all I would ever have to worry about is what shade of grey to use. But no, instead I have to choose colors from a seemingly infinite number of choices =P
http://www.colourlovers.com/ does help me out with that a little bit though.

colors eh, do you have the same problem when dressing?
look around, what color combos do you like, what designs do you like, and why - and then how could you create your own version of that...
@relaxolgy - Problem is that my color choices are usually very plain. In clothing, it's all stuff like dark brown, dark blue, black, dark green. I guess that's why I have an easier time designing a site with dark colors rather than light ones =P
But yea, you're right. I just gotta keep my eyes peeled for colors that I enjoy and work with them.
there's also warn and cold colors, or hues. Cold tends to be more sombre.
I have the same problem with colors and design. I took an art class to see if I could learn anything about how colors go together. It didn't work.
I don't even try to design with CSS. I only use it for text, link, and background colors.
Hey man, check out my blogsite. Black background, grey text, all over. I've got a script for my webbrowser that forces every website to have a black background. It's much easier on the eyes, particularly when you have the light off. Ever try typing a Word document in the dark? It's like trying to read the text on a lightbulb, while it's turned on.
GO BLUE!
