Facebook Status Message
It bothers me when people on facebook totally ignore the structure of their status message. It's always "YOUR NAME is " and then you fill in the rest. But some people just type whatever they want there. And by some people, I'm referring to this one friend I have.
"YOUR NAME is my car won't start"
or
"YOUR NAME is why can't i find my shoes"And you can delete the is, so those sentence could have just as easily been.
"YOUR NAME can't start his/her car"
or
"YOUR NAME can't find his/her car"It hurts.

I couldnt agree more!
haha
I dont use facebook much these days.
Im with you, Justin!
It makes me cry on my keyboard.
it saddens me that my niece hasn't figured out that you can delete the "is"
I feel your pain. Do they ever just use song lyrics after the "is"?
@NeverEndingPie - Urg, yes. Not very often though, but it does happen.
I always want to put in "YOUR NAME's car won't start.", but it adds a space between the E and the ' which makes it look like "YOUR NAME 's car won't start.", which just isn't right.
Oh my gosh! You have no idea how much this drives me crazy! AHHH! It just makes me want to leave a snide comment on their status update. At least you just have one particular friend who does that... I'd say at least 60% of my friends do that. My brain just dies a little everytime I read one.
Oddly enough, this bothers me too... probably more than it should.
life's a bitch in facebook.
I'm glad I'm not the only one bothered by this.
Bahahaahhaha. Justin the grammar Nazi!
It's so true. That could even work with the is... NAME is unable to start his/her car.
That's funny, but it's a bit annoying that my name is always in front of it. Sometimes limits the things I can say.
I know!! It's kind of irritating! :/
I'm with you! My other FB pet peeve is when people send me messages that start with "Write something..." WTH??
Funnny!
People on Myspace do this too...ICK!
Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to
build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying
to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning.
Bahahaha. Thought of you when I read that.
6 comments because of my rec. I take full credit.
Ha. Especially after people bitched about taking the 'is' away. I always have mine in third person unless it is something random. Then I use ":" this to make it better if I put something different after it.
i pu the is in myself.
I don't erally use facebook that much though.
Omg, I absolutely know what you mean and it hurts me too! Same with myspace status. It makes me want to punch kittens (and if you knew how much I loved cats, you would understand). I even made my status one time "My name hates it when people dont use their status right" lol or something like that.
Sigh. I'm totally sharing this on my Facebook, maybe people will get a clue...
Word. It is quite annoying.
That really bothers me too.
I know some people do it on purpose, but I think it's painful.
It bothers me, too. I can deal with them putting a colon or a | after their name and then typing something else, though.
If you're my teenage daughter, it reads :Shanna is LIKE hating school. Or Shanna is LIKE SO happy I'm not grounded anymore.
haha i do the same thing.. i jst delete the "is" so it looks a little more normal.. like suggested lol
I totally agree with you... it always bugs me when people do that! Great post!
woh, that's so weird. i was talking about this same exact thing with one of my friends the other day! and i told her the same thing: "its so annoying how people do that sometimes, why don't you just delete the 'is' part?"
and then we had a whole long debate about it.
creepy
Go to your news feed preferences. (At the bottom of your news feed).
Choose "less about..."
Enter your friend's name.
Problem solved. You don't have to see it any more.
hahaha i totally know what you mean. still, i always do it myself sometimes.
hahaha. i know where you're coming from.
LOL, some people dont get it *looks over her shoulder* (i hope it aint me)
My personal least favorite is, "[NAME] 'insert some quote or saying here.' "
