Remember when the first Matrix movie came out?  It's one of those movies where I wish I could see it again for the first time.  Since then though, at least for me, movies are getting less and less innovative and unique.

These days, studios keep pumping out sequels and movies based off of books, comics, graphic novels, video games, real world events, tv shows and wherever else they feel like.  Not to say that all of these movies are bad just because they aren't original, I just wish there were more unique ideas out there.

There have been a couple movies that I would have liked to have seen, but due to movie ticket prices, it can be hard to make it over to the theater and spend 12 bucks on a ticket (NYC prices).  If tickets were cheap again, I definitely would be at the theater checking out those little movies that look interesting to me.  Just because a movie didn't have a 200 million dollar budget doesn't mean it's guaranteed to be any less entertaining that one that did.  But with these high ticket prices, we all kinda want a movie that's worth our money.  And that's where all the blockbuster sequels come in.  They almost become movies that you have to see because everyone else is going to see it too.

Oh how I wish it was the 90's again =P

  • oh to have movies like "dumb and dumber" again... cie la vie...

  • classic movies never die. Go see something in b/w

  • Since I got to experience deja vu reading your post, you get it with my comment babes. I'm getting tired of the sequels too. But as much as I hate the multiple, say, Disney sequels (that lack the same spirit!rar!), I think it's a bit of a stretch to yearn for the good ole days of original stuff. Because, honestly, a lot of movies that may seem original at first are based on something else, even if it's really old school.

I'll get geeky on you and start telling you the origins of some of your fav movies (I won't out you and your tastes here hehe). But to prohibit those sources you listed would pretty much kill the flow of ideas.

As for movie prices, that's why I just have you take me to the movies. It's win-win for everyone that way.

    Loves you babesly <3
