8 Ball
So the only rule to racking the balls for offical 8 ball is to have the 8 ball in the center and have a solid in one back corner of the triangle and a stripe in the other. I can't say I knew that.
And just in case you were wondering, you don't lose if you scratch on the 8 ball attempt and the 8 ball doesn't go in.
